“Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: deadlift, clean, squat, presses, clean and jerk, and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climbs, push-ups, sit ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc. hard and fast. Five or six days a week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Amber Sperlich

Head Coach/Owner, L-1, CrossFit Kids, CrossFit Gymnastics, Pregnancy & Post-Partum Athleticism

Amber has been a CrossFitter since 2012, and received her CrossFit Level 1 Trainer certificate in 2016,her CrossFit Gymnastics specialty certificate in 2017, and her CrossFit Kids training certificate in 2018. Amber also became a certified Pregnancy and Post-Partum Athleticism coach. She has been an active member of organized sports throughout high school and college. After college, Amber competed in a variety of sprint, Olympic, and half-ironman distance triathlons in her free time. Amber fell in love with CrossFit after trying the sport as a cross-training supplement to triathlon training. As a previous career professional, Amber understands the strains and demands of daily life and work obligations on fitness regimens. As head coach of CrossFit Tempest, she works diligently to help each member learn to move well in a fun and rewarding environment so that they can experience improved quality of life in both work and play outside of the box.

Riley Burbach

Coach - L1

Riley started CrossFit on March 1st, 2016 and fell in love with everything about it. The summer of 2017, after he graduated high school, he decided he wanted to make a difference in the world so he took what I loved to do and decided to make a career out of being a CrossFit Coach. He took his Level 1 certification in November 2017 and has been loving every moment: from seeing progress in the gym to making new friendships that will last a lifetime.
